Erin Stevenson

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ERIN

Erin Stevenson has proudly served as a Councillor in Spruce Grove since 2017. She grew up in the community- and today, she lives in Greenbury with her younger brother and nephew, with much of her family still close by. For Erin, this city isn’t just a place she represents—it’s home.

By day, she works as a Marketing Manager at Athabasca University. She’s also spent time in government, the private sector, and even ran her own small business in communications and marketing. Education has played a big role in her life—she’s studied everything from broadcast media to leadership and organizational management to local government and administration—and she brings that learning into her work at City Hall.

Erin was recently elected by her elected peers across Alberta to represent mid-sized cities on the Alberta Municipalities Board as a Director, Cities up to 500,000. In that role, she helps advocate for the issues that matter to communities like Spruce Grove to the provincial government.

When she’s not at work or doing council things, Erin is often out helping out at community events—flipping pancakes, cheering runners on at local races, or volunteering at events such as Ribfest and the Alberta Winter Games. She’s a proud supporter of local markets, regional tourism, and Grove Gatherings on Tuesday nights.

She’s also a gardener (with 300+ plants in her backyard!), a wine lover, a traveler, and a devoted dog mom to four pups. For Erin, serving her city is just an extension of the life she’s always lived here—one that’s deeply connected to people, place, and purpose.

I respectfully acknowledge that I am a settler on Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting ground, gathering place, and travelling route to the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Iroquois, Métis, Dene, Nakota Sioux, Ojibway, Anishinaabe and Inuit whose histories, languages and cultures influence and enrich our vibrant community. We share the land of Spruce Grove with the Michel Band Nation and share friendship with our Indigenous neighbours the Enoch Cree Nation, Paul Band Nation, Alexander First Nation and Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation. I acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries. I will acknowledge this for as long as long as the sun shines, the grass grows and the river flows.”
